World-traveler in his quest for new and interesting plants and herbs, Jim Long is an icon in the herbal community. Founder and co-owner of Long Creek Herb Farm in Missouri, Long grows between 150 and 200 varieties of plants including culinary and medicinal herbs, edible flowers and unusual international vegetables. He has written numerous books on herbs, remedies, recipes, gardening and more. As a frequent lecturer, Long presents for a variety of state master gardener groups, herb societies, at conferences and has been featured in numerous national magazines such as Southern Living, Gourmet Garden, Garden Design and has been a regular columnist for The Herb Companion, The Herb Quarterly, The Heirloom Gardener and the Ozarks Mountaineer magazines. In addition to his syndicated newspaper column, Ozarks Gardening, Long has also been a frequent guest on Home and Garden TV and Discovery Channel programs.
